I guess since it's after midnight it's July 20. Josh and I have been together for 11 years now! Holy crap. Happy anniversary, baby. I love you more than I can say.

OK, a good thing. My tibia doesn't hurt to the touch anymore. I'm mean, I'm sure part of it does, but the top part that I can reach through the ace bandage doesn't anymore. This means I can put more of my leg on the Walk-A-Bout. And the pain when I put my foot down has gone down another notch. So healing is happening.
Of course, I still have a headache all that that other stuff is still frustrating me...

and some success. I used a 4' 1x2 to knock over a large box and get the sweeper. (I snagged the handle and pulled it up from amongst a ton of other crap)
Used it a bit to push stuff away from the door, but didn't sweep anything up because there are some new seeds on the ground.
Dragged my trash can the the curb (not the correct area, but at this point I don't care).
Got mail.
time to rest now

I had 4 or 5 little bruises on the inside of my right thigh. This is one of the reasons I wanted to wear capris today instead of shorts - hide the bruises! It worked. But didn't stop me from getting more. A LOT more. There are over 20 now. At least they don't hurt like the green ones from the fall yesterday. And while I'm complaining - my hip/but hurts & I'm not sure if that was from the fall or just using this damn thing. Sigh.

I have no money, but have travel on my mind anyway. Sigh. So many baby animals are being born and then United goes and has a sale. 20% off their Saver Award trips. Tickets need to be booked soon and are only good until November 18th. Tempting. But I am broke.... Really, truely broke.

I set up the tent next to a "Team Road Apple". It's their 2nd RAGBRAI and looks like they decided to go all out with a horse trailer full of bicycles and a support driver/cook an hand. Someone I ran into this morning said 70% of riders are part of a team. I noticed a "Team Crude" nearby too who are in a big modified school bus. Lots of people take their RAGBRAI real seriously.
I haven't seen a whole lot of partying yet. At the Ribfest the only beer available was the worst possible. We're talking Bud Light as the best of the bunch. I guess most of these bike riders are trying hard not to get dehydrated by drinking such swill as Michelob Ultra. ewwww. Geez. make mine water. Well I guess it's better off if I don't drink anyway.
Anyways I took some pictures at the Ribfest and Hairball show last night. Also included are a few snaps I took in good old Omaha the last couple of days.
Here have a look.
The Ribfest is already underway today. I made sure to skip breakfast so I could try more than one sample of ribs. Last night all I could get down was Awesome Aussie. They had a nice raspberry bbq sauce, but no exotic meats were available. Also a WARNING: VERY HOT sauce was on hand, but I thought it was just nicely hot.

Thank you FCC. I got a message from Dover Downs saying that because of a new FCC rule they can't keep sending me automatic phone calls unless I confirm I want them. Hopefully this means the calls will stop. Suposedly someone gave them my phone # and I've been getting occassional calls on my cell from them for months.
Recovery update - The pain when I put my foot down is a bit less today. That's not saying much 'cause it was VERY bad yesterday. And I'm not talking about all the way down 'cause, of course, I'm still not supposed to put any weight on it. And moving it so I'm on my knee hurts even worse.
At one point the incision REALLY hurt. I don't know what set that off 'but OMG it felt like a knife was cutting me open sans drugs. Wheee. I'm not sure how I'm going to work at the office, but I gotta hope the pain keeps getting less.
I had to do laundry today so I had a pair of capris to wear tomorrow during my outing. I've been wearing shorts, but want something that'll cover my bruises. So I get upstairs and am standing with crutches & stool handy. But the stool needs to be closer to the machine. So, I move it, didn't have it opened enough when I put weight on it and it collapsed and I went down. Put some weight on my left big toe - but not a lot. I mostly fell on the left knee and hurt my right hand. One finger got pinched in the stool. I ignored that finger going down and concentrated on getting the weight off my left leg. It was the right priority, but OUCH. Anyway, I got 1 load washed & dried and another started. Some things are hanging in the bathroom. I don't think I'm going to try to go up there again today. Twice was enough.
Tomorrow I'm going to the eye Dr. to pick up my new lenses. I really hope they are right. Anyone want me to call them while I'm waiting for them to put the new lenses in? I'm going to be mostly blind for maybe half an hour and will need some distraction.
